Fear doesn't have to stop you. Let me share with you how to use it to come home to yourself.

How to use fear to change your life...for the better

I flew across the country this week with shaking hands and a pounding heart to do one of the hardest things I have ever done.

It involved me being deeply vulnerable, speaking truth with a courageous voice and authentically showing up despite experiencing one of the most visceral feelings we have as humans: fear.

Before leaving on the trip, I realized I was standing at a threshold I normally would not have crossed. Typically I would have shrunk back, stayed quiet and stayed "safe."

But this time was different.

This was one of the first times in 43 years where I recognized the feeling of the fear in my body. Instead of pushing it away, I pulled it closer. I used it to my advantage to steady myself and deeply commit myself to my purpose.

I know what it feels like to be totally terrified - and to honor it anyway. To metabolize the fear instead of ignoring it in shame. And to follow through on the promise I made to myself despite being scared.

Now I understand fear is only an invitation: an invitation to deeply honor your heart's calling. And it has changed everything.
